This soft, moist sinking carnivore feed is a squishy 3 mm pellet which can also be rolled into balls like putty, to feed your monsters (I like to roll 3 or 4 together, into what I call "Super Pellets").
 
Not all of the pellets which are available on the market are suitable for amphibians to eat. These Rangen brand moist pellets are recommended by caudata.org and ambystoma.org.

Newts, axolotls, and other large carnivores eat them with great relish. The secret is the squishy consistency, which makes them easier for amphibians to swallow and digest.

​

I prefer a staple of whole foods for my pets in general and amphibians an particular, but I always have these as a back up.
